About Us

At Mazwi we provide government school children in sub-Saharan Africa with the opportunity to learn how to read, write, and speak English using the innovative, and systematic Jolly Phonics method.

We believe that this approach will not only help these students to build a strong foundation in literacy but also equip them with the skills necessary for success in their education.

The closure of schools due to the Covid 19 pandemic had a profound impact on children’s education and well-being especially those in rural and government schools.

Children in rural schools or government schools did not have the resources afforded to their counterparts during the pandemic.

In essence, these children have a lot of catching up to do.We are deeply concerned about the long-term consequences of this predicament for these children. At Mazwi we feel that we owe it to these children to help them catch up.

“Reading opens doors. It is our duty to help the children of Sub Saharan Africa to open these doors. For if we don’t, then the doors to the world will remain shut.”
